Banner Design Competition
Call for Entries
The Brookline Commission for the Arts, in collaboration with the Community Partnership Committee with representatives from the Town of Brookline and The Country Club, is excited to announce a Call for Entries for the design of banners which will be displayed throughout the Town for the 122nd U.S. Open Championship. The championship, organized by the United States Golf Association, will take place June 13 – 19, 2022. The themes of this year’s competition focus on diversity and inclusion.
The winning design will receive a prize of $1,000.
Banners displaying the winning design will be featured on light poles in a variety of locations throughout the Town of Brookline in the weeks leading up to and including the championship..
Eligibility: Residents of Brookline or students in Brookline schools'
Media: Any medium that can be accommodated on a two-dimensional banner.
Dimensions: Banners will be 60” high x 30” wide and will need to accommodate both visual image(s) and text about the 122nd U.S. Open Championship. Two-sided banners with different designs on opposing sides are acceptable, but we reserve the right to use only one of the designs. Applicants may submit up to three (3) designs.
Deadline: Submission must be received by March 15, 2022.

- Entries must be submitted electronically and in a PDF format, by March 15, 2022 to:
- Include the name, email address, phone number, and home address of the artist
- Students should include the name of their school in Brookline
- An original artwork for the winning design must be received by April 1, 2022
- The following text must be incorporated into the design:
